About us

Founded in 1988 by Louise Richards and Kevin Finnan MBE, Motionhouse’s trailblazing journey has helped it become one of the UK’s leading dance companies. Receiving rave responses from audiences across the globe, Motionhouse shows fuse passionate physicality, powerful narrative, incredible digital imagery and emotive sound scores to surprise and delight. Motionhouse tours to theatres and festivals in the UK and across the globe – exporting work made in Warwickshire to audiences around the world. A wide ranging education and participatory programme runs parallel to Motionhouse’s performance work. The company’s approach to participation is inclusive, with the underlying ethos that anyone can dance. The company runs regular classes from its home base in Leamington Spa, offering developmental and creative opportunities for children and young people to dance. In 2015 Motionhouse won the Pride of Warwick District ‘Pride Award’ and the Judges’ Choice Award as ‘Leamington Business of the Year’ at the Leamington Business awards. Motionhouse receives funding as part of the Arts Council England's National Portfolio, a significant measure of success within the arts sector.
